Title: Drivers side fender?
Post by: dogginred90 on December 25, 2008, 10:10:11 PM
Hey guys just wandering what other Grand Prix fenders will work on our cars. I dont know what happened but my door shifted and my son didnt notice that it was hard to open so he kept pulling and pushed my fender in and just plain messed it up. He put a nice crease in it, I pryed it out and realigned my door, but now I need a fender. If any of you guys have a D.S front fender for sale let me know.
                           Thanks, Shawn

There are different part #'s over the years for some reason. One set for 1988-1990, then another set for 1991-1996 according to my GP parts catalog scans(can be found the common part #'s thread stickied at the top of this section). Here's the page that lists the fender part numbers... http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f14/platjblser/?action=view&current=gp4.jpg

You would be better off getting a 91-96 fender off of a B4U car, because they already have the mounting hooks for the fender flares.  It would be less work for you.

Well picked up a fender today off a 92 GP, and they are different. Where it bolts up behind the headlight, it has studs not bolts. And on top of the fender near the headlight it has extra metal that has to be cut off so it will fit. But all in all it wil work with some mods.

Don't you just hate GM sometimes... You would think they would be the same, that's just retarded.

Yeah tell me about it. The studs behind the headlight are too small to fit our headlight assembly and corner light assembly so I had to break out the grinder again. But it is all back together and spend the day with that lovely body filler. Trying to fix some dings, while I wait to find a 5 speed donor car. WOOOHOOO!!
