What are you guys / Gals paying to get your cars painted? I want to get my 1990 TSTE repainted the white color.
White is about as cheap as it gets but it also depends on the brand of paint, There are so many of them.. I have had good results from Nasons(made by Dupont) and the price is pretty good, I would say 800 or so in materials. Then there is Chromabase(made by Dupont) I use it to spot match and when they want a show winning car.. I would say about 1200-1400 in materials there... For labor, I'm very anal so I want touch anything for less than 3K ... You should be able to find some one local and help them out a bit, Like removing mirrors, lights, etc for 1500-2500. Or just take it to macco and they will spray everything white for you real cheap...
My local friends cant believe that I would have someone else touch the car but I just dont have time....... I've got a guy who will spray two color coats and one clear if I dissemble it for $800 with prep. (I get the materials). My Car cover blew / tore off so the paint needs work, however the body is 98% perfect minus the paint.
Macco did the trunk lid and NASCAR spoiler on my 1997, matched the paint perfect all for $250 (with Military Discount :icon_cool: :icon_cool:) Even gave me the left over paint.

A single coat of clear is not enough in my opinion, Most cars I paint have at least 3 and as many as 6 layers of clear... Also I usually spray 3 coats of base, and that does not include the sealer that goes on before the base...

Good call.
I have 3 coats of paint and 2 coats clear and mine now which looks real good, but am considering of one more clear. Definitly would give it that showroom look.
