Title: Car moves side to side?
Post by: dogginred90 on February 09, 2009, 08:46:37 PM
Ok guys help me figure this out. When I accelerate about half throttle the car will pull to the left, and when I let off the throttle it goes back to the right. I dont have no clunking or banging just the pulling issue. Any suggestions will be looked at( 60 degrees the next 2 days, so time for me to get some things done to my cars). Thanks in advance. Oh and all 4 motor mounts are fairly new, not saying that they cant be bad though, but when I put the car in gear the engine doesnt rock back and forth like a bad mount will cause.

I moved your thread to the suspension area since it's most likely suspension/tire related. I replied on the other board by the way.

The A-Arm bushings (Right? I forgot the name if not) They go bad and cause that, also a worn out axle can do that, my 6000 did it untill i put a new one on.

A worn axle will cause a clunking noise wont it. I rotated my tires today and it didnt help. I did see some open air through my sway bar bushings on the passenger side. Would that cause the car to drift to the drivers side under throttle? Everything under the car looks tight, except for the sway bar bushing.

They can get worn out, and have rotational play, so when you let off the gas, it binds one way, when you get back on it, it twists back and clunks. Clicking is one also, dirt in the bearings. Popping around corners is another.

It doesnt make any noise what so ever. It isnt that bad since I rotated the tires, so I am hoping it is just a bad tire. I will replace more parts underneath later this spring. Soon it will be a new car at this pace.
