If any of you guys could either reprogram my 89 2.8 comp to run 3.1 turbo code or sell me a tgp comuter please let me know . :D :D :crazyeyes:
I went through the same thing. No one will program a turbo setup for a gm 2.8/3.1 computer(only Haltec computer--1000+,plus programming 300+. yea programmers take the easy way). I think what you want is just the chip itself. And presto, you have a turbo computer- minus the conection you need to make form the boost controler (pin a18 if you have a underhood ecm). Injectors? Compatiblity? Too rich....too lean.
If you use the tgp injectors you'll need to trick your 2bar mapsenser with a varial risistor( volume knob 3 pin)or AFR unit and set it during idle till you get a good reading from the a/f monitor. But you will still run rich at some points and way too lean at others. Just drop in a 3.1 liter and shoot for the sky.
Where can you get the chip...Some of theise guys are using jeffs chips so they removed their oem chips and are sitting as paper weight. Will they sell them..????... but then you should get jeffs chip. I am thinking of getting one too.
THe other wire to the boost controler goes to the potive on the egr valve.
