I want to put a cd player in my 89 tgp but I dont want to lose the redundant controls in the wheel, does anyone know of any??
three ways......
1: factory CD player
2: after market with a POS-X transmitter
3: a remote fm changer....
there is a company that makes the interface adapter for our steering wheel controls http://www.go2pac.com/.

I will sell you the one I bought for my TGP. Never used...$50 shipped to you... 8)
I'm not at all familiar with the interface. How does it work? You hook it up to the stereo and then to the wheel? Can you give me some idea here?
Sorry...
click on detailed info tab in the Crutchfield page. It ties into the steering wheel control harness then uses an Infra-Red Led to control your aftermarket stereo. You must have a stereo with a wireless remote for this to work. It turns the steering wheel into a remote control more or less... 8)
Alright. My car is an 89 and it has the factory tape deck and eq. Sometimes when I use the volume it screws up the speaker fade and balance settings! :bad-words: And since I changed the antenna last summer ( I broke the mast one day ) there is a popping sound that comes throught the speakers even when the volume is all the way down, but it doesn't do it all the time. I want to put in a cd player definetely, and I still want to use the controls, but I don't know if the short is in the stereo or in the steering column. Does anyone have any suggestions?
