Title: brakes work sometime HELP! PLEASE
Post by: POPEYEZTGP on April 19, 2009, 09:32:42 PM
HEY GUY'S
my problem is ( and i'm sure im not the first) the ABS/brake lights and check engine on.
i just bought this car about 4 weeks , i thought i fixed the brakes by fixing a vacuum leak, i was wrong,
first the PMIII motor would run off and on and sometimes no brakes now the pmIII motor won't come on and pedal is hard hard,, i tryed to bled the brakes starting with the rear passenger(with key on) no fluid coming out, so i took the line off the (i guess check block ) near the fuel filter , just a drop fell out, pumped the brakes still nothing coming out, i checked the forum to see if anyone else had this problem but i didn't see,
my car is supposed to have only 72,000 miles on it,
fluid looks clean,
so please help i don't have the money at the moment to send it to a 75 dollar and hour mech.

Note: i pulled and checked all fuses , i read i shouldn't of done that,i love this car and will do all i can to keep it alive with the help of you guy's..thanks aka POPEYE

First off, be sure that both of the chambers in your master cylinder are full of fluid.  The rear portion goes to the rear brakes IIRC, and both chambers must be full of fluid.

Also, is your ANTILOCK light flashing, or on steady?

I would first start off (after filling your master cylinder) by bleeding the brakes at every wheel and be sure you are getting fluid at each wheel.  If you're still having problems then, let us know.
