Title: TGP Fuel Injectors
Post by: 89BlackTGP on April 27, 2009, 06:31:25 PM
Ok this topic probably has been covered many times.. I just want to confirm it ans make sure.. Now whats the numbers that should be on the top of a TGP injector? i want to make sure i have TGP injectors before i go any further..

But now i tested them and they leak on the bench.. So now im looking for replacements.. I have a 97 3800 N/A outside with the injectors on it.. I read a few times of those being used on a tgp engine.. Also read about using LQ1 injectors on the TGP engine.. I happen to have both sets here in my garage.. which ones are best?

Now for the kicker.. I have connections at a auto parts store where parts happen to make it into pockets out the back door.. So therefor whatever injector that is in stock i can get.. So another question arises.. What car has the best injector to match the TGP injectors?? Cant get too crazy like corvettes or so b/c they prob dont stock thoses..

Adam you know what you tuned my chip to so not sure if i need the stock ones or can upgrade them with no problems at all..

Hope someone can help.. THanks

Ford Yellow top 19# pintly style racing injectors, all over Ebay, are perfect for our cars, the 3800 injectors go right in, but i hear they run a tad rich, but a normal driver may not notice it. I wouldnt waste your money at a parts store, injectors are usually in the hundreds a peice, and you can get a set of 6 under 200 online.

The chip was set up for stock 22lb flow rate injectors. The ford injectors will work just fine, they measure there flow rate a little different than GM. Or you could get a set from a 1989 iroc-z camaro equipped with a 350 TPI. They are the exact same injectors that came on the TGP..

thanks adam..

Well last night i dug out the 3800 injectors i had and 3 were bad.. soo those are ruled out.. my connection at the part store didnt pull through.. they didnt have any in stock not even for a 5.0 or a TPI camaro or a 99 GP with 3800..

So today im going to test my 3.4 DOHC injectors.. if all are good will they be fine in it? how close are they to match to the tgp injectors?i have read in real old threads that people have ran LQ1 injectors in the tgp..

Right now injectors and my flywheel is holding me up to finish this 5 spd swap..

If I remember right, the LQ1 Injectors will run lean in the TGP engine. Not good for a forced induction motor.
