Post by: Rushman04 on November 24, 2002, 03:04:34 PM
Hey i have a 1992 grand prix se dressed up like gt but has a 3.1 motor in it. I was wondering what i would need to do if i wanted to make it a 3.1 turbo. I can get the engine but would i have to get the ECM or other components?

You would need the computer chip, not the whole computer. Also the radiator. intercooler and all plumbing, rear exhaust manifold, and downpipe. If your buying a whole motor make sure the oil and coolant lines are there for the turbo. Or is it a complete motor?

Most important things are the fuel injectors, chip(static sensitive, use a static handling bag from radioshack or from your new modem wraper or memory wraper to carry in), rear exhoust manofold(next to downpipe), then everything connected to engineblock form the turbo, intake pipes and intercooler, radiator ,upper rad. hose.boost silenoid, and ofcourse the turbo itself. (boost seleniod conected to pin A18 on the ecm and other end to positive on egr valve wire.
