Title: OMG Im freaking thrilled
Post by: Jonpro03 on July 11, 2009, 11:39:14 PM
My car is finally running right!!! For the longest time ive battled rich conditions, bad fuel mileage, shaking, no power, stalling, etc.
After replacing plugs and wires I thought i wouldve ruled out any ignition problems. So i moved to fuel and everything checked out... Then I tested the coils and sure enough one was bad. Replaced it and now I got a totally different animal! That frickin car is fast!!! The poor tires don't stand a prayer!  and with all my hotdoggin around I got 14mpg!!! Ive been averaging 11!

Im driving it up to chicago tomorrow and can't wait to see what my mpgs will be. Got a car meet with the w-body boys.

Sounds like it's time to take the TGP to the track. ;)

You might have noticed that I edited your post....that was an accident. I hit "modify" instead of "quote" on your post without realizing it.  :icon_redface:

Are coils easy to replace and how do you tell they were bad? I guess trial and error right. Congrats!

Not too hard to replace as long as the engine is cooled (cause it wasn't when i did it... ouch) There on the front of the engine under the exhaust manifold. I tested them using a spark tester. U could just use some pliers too.
