Title: how 3.8sc's get 33 mpg & how can i use this?
Post by: no_doz on July 22, 2009, 07:08:14 AM
ive been reading a lot about these 30+ mpg 3.8 sc vehicles, & what id like to know is with a supercharger, with a proper cam & tune for it, would it be possible to supercharge a smaller motor, & set it up specifically -for- in town & highway mpg-in a smaller vehicle, and with the right setup do you guys think if everything was setup/tuned -for- mpg at those rpms, do you think great mpg is achievable?

also, for sc mpg purposes, would a 2 valve 4 cyl or 4 valve 4 cylinder be better? knowing that a 2500lb fiero with a 2.5 got 40mpg highway, i figure with an sc, cam, and tuning for it (as well as porting & port matching), with a 94+ 2.2 (2200) do you guys think crazy good mpg is possible if thats what the whole setup is uh, set up for? and this would be with a 5 or 6 speed trans.
