I was in the car with my friend as we left Wendy's [99cent nuggets own me]. There was still some pretty good traffic out for being around 10:00 p.m. on the worst Friday in the year. Anyway, I was stuck in the right lane of 224 [for you Ohio people] needing to get into the left lane to make my turn. A blue 91-92ish Cavalier RS 2-door was next to me with two guys and a chubby chick in the passanger seat. The car had the usual Wal-Mart/ Pep Boys/K-Mart chrome hubcaps [is it me, or does every single freaking J-Body have these type of hubcaps?] and two blue neons on the inside. I finally was able to get behind the RS as we both entered the turn lane.
We made our turn, but the Cavy was stuck behind some old Caddy as I floored it past him. I got it upto around 45mph before I left off of the gas. [The motor makes a loud gush type sound when you floor it int 2nd gear and then let off the gas, kinda weird and neat at the same time.] The loud woosh sound exited my mufflerless exhaust tip [chrome pepboys tip!] I guess the driver of the RS thought I wanted to race him. So he flew past the Caddy and got to the lane next to me. He had to let the whole world know that he had a manual by letting it roll backwards and almost hitting a car behind him]. The light turned green and we had to stop at the next light. The road past the light goes uphill.
This light turned green and I floored it. It went into the second gear where I held it till 50mph. Then I quickly let off the gas to have it shift into third as the woosh sound quickly came and went. We were bumper to bumper upto 50mph. Then I SLOWLY started to creep on past the RS. I had maybe a fender and a half on him holding him off till around 70mph. We kept going, 60mph, 65mph, 70mph, 80mph. This time the Cavalier started to pull on me past 70mph. He got maybe a half a car length on me before he had to slow down because there was a car infront of him.
I slowed down when I passed the car infront of the Cavalier. The RS got right on my tail. I could make out those LED hood lights, his amber driving markers where changed to a blue-greenish color. I turned onto a side street headed home. He flew past me on a double-yellow line [how smart huh?]. I got stuck behind him further up the road at a light, and his girlfriend in the passanger seat and the guy behind the girl kept looking back at us laughing I guess. I could have cared less though because me and my friend where laughing so hard that a Cavalier barely beat us.
P.S. I was in my dads base 1991 Plymouth Acclaim 4-door 2.5liter Inline-4 3-speed automatic! It's nick name is the "Beast of the East" because of the gushing sound it makes when I floor it hard. And you guys thought I was in my Turbo Grand Prix!
Stats:2.5liter Inline 4
100hp with 135lbs of torque and weighs 2884lbs.
Cavalier:2.2liter Inline-4
95hp with 120lbs of torque and weighs 2520lbs.
The Cavalier only got me because my dads car is old and he had a 5-speed. :)
 I was about to ask you if you wanted my 12gauge to put your TGP out of it's misery!!!!
