Car sat for 4-5 years
all stock stuff right now, injectors, airbox, thermostat, and chip.
The crossover is bad, it leaks pretty bad a new one is in the mail now.
well first problem was not not starting, a fuel pump and new ECM fixed that.
then stopping, new brake lines and a new master cyl fixed that
then cooling, some heater hose fixed that,
now I can worry about the smaller things.
the car idles high, but not all the time.
sometimes the idle will creep up to 2500-3000, but if I turn the car off and back on, it will come down to around 1100 according to the dash, but I have not verified that yet.
and when it is idling (sort of) right whenever the fan turns on the idle will jump up as well.
my first inclination is to try a different IAC and see where that gets me, I need to hook the scanner up yet and see what all the car is telling me, I figured i'd see what you guys had to say on the matter first though, anything I should check out? I'm fairly new to this wonky turbo and didn't know if there was something that could be a common thing to look at.

Since the IAC ramps up the idle when the fans on, it might have to do with it like you're thinking. You could probably try turning the steering wheel to get the idle to raise and see if the idle sticks high/hangs in that situation as well. The fan & steering both command about the same amount of IAC steps.
