Its going to stay white, no questions.  Only two body "mods" will be silver accent on body trim will be replaced with black and the rear wing from a Z24 Cavilear.

I dont know if acrylic will be too hard for the plastic pieces though?  Anyone?

A restored TGP.. Hell yea.. Cant wait to see the finished product.. Its always easy to say "yea it just needs to get repainted" but when it actually goes to get painted is a different story..

Hes abit lucker than the 2 door people. I cant see how youd fix all the tons of plastic moulding on the side of the coupes, it warps and ripples over time and i dont see how it could ever look brand new.

The reason I bought it (out of Utah) in 2006 was the body was perfect except for the paint, all panels still have the stickers on them, not even door dings. I was truly amazed.

I signed a contract with the MAX price it could be with the paint shop. This same shop touched up the paint on my 1997, and dependant on the outcome of this car may also paint my 1996.

White is the cheapest paint because it is the base for everything.

I am going to see if I can get some pictures of the progress through the week.

Now I cant decide of I want white rims or black?  opinions?  I sort of am drawn towards the black, both my daughters want black rims on it.

Spoiler is from a Z24 Cavelear.

Stripping car down, Primer, 2 coats of color was just shy of 1K.  It has some blemishes but some touch up paint and a Buffer will fix that.

on my 1989 I was going to convert it to the 1996 body moldings (complete body kit in garage attic), not all of the body panels line up correctly (doors, rear facial).  Good luck.

Looks freakin awsome! I want my white 6000 to be that pretty  :icon_cry:  Just a suggestion, those 3m headlight resotration kits, or some good ol wet sanding and polish would make them yucky yellow headlights clear right up

Single stage. I wasn't looking for any show quality stuff, I just wanted to fix this. (see PIC)

Hard to tell but the paint was literally flaking off the entire car.

I still have a lot to do, like installing my HID's, refinishing all the lights, installing the newer CD player, shampooing the interior, fine tuning.....

Is that Kenny's old TSTE?

Do you mean my old TSTE that I sold to Kenny then bought back? Nope, that, the 1996, and (this week) the 1989 with the built motor will all be in my friends barn for their multi year nap.  The body and paint on that one was repainted before I origonaly got it in 2000.

This one I got in Utah 4 years ago when I realized how "gone" my 1989 TGP was.  Was going to, and still will, put my built motor & tranny into it in the future.  For now I just need a relaible DD I can fit the family into since the Denali is sold this week.  4-door with kids is a must, plus the 25+MPG with those 24# injectors is real easy to get used to.

Sweet, looks really good. One day when I get married (or grow up) I will have a TSTE...
Are you running the base line tune I sent you, just tweaked a bit? Or did you go a different route...
