Title: PROM/ECU question
Post by: Prospeeder on March 08, 2010, 09:08:29 PM
Ok so when the car "learns" its idle, is that information stored on the ECM itself, or the PROM chip? After doing a forced Idle relearn using an old piece of GM service equipment. My car was idleing well for a few days now its right back to its old bs, reving super high at startup and slowly coming down, high idle coming to a stop. its like the car forgets how to idle. Wtf. I have these 2 chips, one my stock TGP, one a 2.8 cutlass supreme, and i cannot remember which is which, lol, whats the "Stock" TGP Prom code? Is it ATSN or AUAF? Im running out of ideas, lol. Right now i Have a "Free 195" Chip from Skalor, its served me well and i cant complain, i may just live with the drivabilty for the performance, if I can deem thats the issue.

AUAF is a TGP bin.   ;)  Is your SES light illuminated?

Ok put the stock chip in, all the idleing high is gone. Now it just does the Classic TGP random stall at a stop. And now when its cold it hesitates and jerks from a stop, it clears up when its hot. Wtf? Maybe ill try a stock PROM and a difference ECM
