Title: Messed up gauges
Post by: tweety25 on March 23, 2010, 08:17:23 PM
Hey guys I have a question about my gauge cluster. I have a 1990 TGP and the rpm's and speedo are both way off (way higher than what's right). I was wondering if it was a wiring issue in the actual cluster, or maybe a new connector will fix it? Give me your thoughts. Thanks

The cluster itself is to blame. It's a very common issue with the TGP and older GP clusters. Some people have had them rebuilt by various electronic places and a few have discussed DIY fixes in the past. The other option is swapping to a regular GP sport cluster as they generally do not have accuracy problems(the one in my 1993 Grand Prix SE is dead-on accurate). Here's a thread from the sister board( www.w-body.com/forum ) discussing a NA cluster swap if you're interested.
