Title: Who wants a project car?
Post by: dogginred90 on April 10, 2010, 07:19:39 AM
Well I have decided or should I say my current hardship has decided to sell my 1990 TGP. It has been a love hate relationship for the past 4 years. I have put about 3,000 dollars into it and it still needs some things to run right. Below is a list of items that are new as of 2007. And these parts have less then 3000 miles on them.
3/2007
complete exhaust(including cat)
front and rear rotors
front and rear pads
all 4 calipers
all rubber brake hoses
struts on all 4 corners
front strut bearing plates
ball joints
tie rods
lower engine mount
drive belt
4/2007
turbo rebuilt by Evergreen turbo company
O2 sensor
9/2007
4 new tires
4 wheel alignment
new tail spouts
fuel pump
fuel pressure regulator
10/2007
IAC
Air temp sensor
crank sensor
TPS
12/2007
Alternator(new not reman)
knock sensor
11/2008
upper intake gasket set
head gasket set
head bolts
heads were replaced with 1989 2.8 heads due to cracked heads
7/2009
rod and main bearings
all gaskets replaced
radiator replaced with used one
1/2010
new battery
there are items that I didnt included, like oil changes, plugs, wires, fuel filter and antifreeze, but you get the point. I have enjoyed this car, but I have no choice.
NOW for the BAD.
transmission slips in all gears, but second. It was wrecked when I bought it and replaced Front bumper, hood, DS fender and rear bumper. It still needs painted. Cluster isnt accurate of course. The bones of the car are solid, it just needs someone that has the time to take care of the rest of the issues. I am asking 1000 or best offer. But it needs to go soon so make me an ofer. Thanks for looking.
                            Shawn(zip code is 16637)
P.S I also have spare parts that will go with it. Stock injectors, both axles, 2 inaccurate clusters, headlight and wiper switches, and some sensors.

Even with Two more years added to your time I still haven't done as much as you've done to yours. Course, I would tell you to hold on to it, but you might have other Ideas. I hate hear that you have to take a loss. But definitly a good project car for anyone.

I know it is a love hate relationship between us. I have spent alot of money on this car and hate to take a loss too. I think it is a very good project for someone just because of what is all done already.

Would you consider selling me the extra set of stock injectors?  I need them for my 2nd TGP motor, the previous owner took the stock ones out and installed regular 3.1 injectors.

BUMP!!!! Someone has to want this car. Come on guys. I am giving it away at this price, but if it doesnt sell I will be forced to part it out. So by Friday if I have no offers start asking for the parts you need. I will ship smaller items, but not the engine, trans, seats or body parts.

if you're talking about the hood and fender from a black tgp, that'd be me that bought the parts.

i also offered to buy the whole car to save it from the demplition derby, but the guy never got back to me.

anyhow, i'm interested in the whole car also, if chris doesn't bite

Yeah I was doing real good till the PMIII pressure switch (at least I think) failed and blew brake fluid out the top of the MC. Fortunately I have a spare for it. I can't wait to start tearing into it.
