Title: MY TGP VS 2 V-TECH HONDA'S
Post by: POPEYEZTGP on May 03, 2010, 06:27:04 AM
Hey guy's just thought i would stop in and give alittle store about yesterday, there a guy i been knowing for awhile he has been messing around with these v-tech honda turbo's along while he is a mechanic by trade and a good one,,
well when i drove up he had a couple of his buddies there younger like 21-25 we joked around about racing my TGP with one of the Honda v-tech. at first i was think i wouldn't have a chance , So we did , we side by side doing about 50 mpg he hits 3 horns i can't even hear my car over his gook pipe (my first time racing my car no BS) and not knowing what i was really doing i down shifted manually (i have an automatic)
We stay side by side until about 65 or 70 mine started to spit im thinking rpm's too high , he then pulled away alittle about 2 to 3 cars now, i shift im up about 80-90 and im coming on him so i get up to about 110-115 and i shut it down , so his buddy that was filming us in another v-tech  honda decided on the way back to try me , we took off at 50 end of the story on the second car really a close race but i won that one even though it was by a nose. after the race my bud the mech. said dude that had to be the closes race he ever seen , needless to say the young guy's was amazed they didn't think it was stock.. woohoo

com"on guy's did i do good or bad.. im not used to racing this car... I'm thinking i did good compared to the ricers with advanced twiked engines, i thought at first they were turbo-ed , but they are not, and i know they run them on the track, running high 13's and 14's , makes me wonder if mine is totally stock?... any idea's how to tell if it is stock?

Sounds like you did well.  Some of those Hondas can be real potent.

hehe race him from a stop, he wont stand a chance. Those little rice burners dont have ANY Low end, the TGP would just murder them from a dig. I find our cars dont exactly do well with rolling starts

Not bad especially with issues on your top end. Once you get that straightened out you can really give'em hell. Just remember to use your head if you are going to continue racing on the street. I know I have been guilty of it my self but a smart street racer knows when to and not to take on an opponent considering their surroundings. Plus I can't wait to see you hit a track and give us some numbers.
