I know two days is not enough time for you all to vote, so I went ahead and bought it with a standard steel pressure plate, Although the lightned one, sure was tempting, price was little steep. I don't know what you all paid for yours but $333.99 with shipping, is not bad at all, compared what they wanted about a year ago. Also those cheap Raybestos master slave and cylinder, that I bought off of  Rockauto Both have started  acting up. So this time I finally started listning to you guys, and went with AC delco parts. hopefully with them costing alot more they will hold up longer . Thanks to all you guys, and for those that have imput, please fell free to use this thread.

I used the stage 3+ in my 1990. Seems to work well for me. I am not a big fan of the 4-6 puk style clutches for the street. The engagement is harsh and they do not slip at all.

I bought my clutch from ultrarev.  Is this the same clutch you bought?

I don't really trust anything... And the local guys making big power have nothing good to say about spec. The stage 4 is cheaper than the 3 probably because it's strictly racing and they're probably not in high demand because people want performance and drivability... It's either one or the other.  Also of corse it depends on how you drive too :)

No, my SC# is different, SC113. The one that I bought was for a 3.1 not 2.8, but maybe no difference , IDK, but that price sure sounds better reguardless. Thanks.

Good deal. Just don't let anyone slip the clutch /burn it up . ..it will eat the metal fast. Its a on/off clutch.

talked to spec today.  The  clutches labled 2.8 liter come with 9 inch disk while the clutches labled 3.1 liter are a 9.5 inch disk.  The price is considerably different but how much different could it be performance wise?  Either way the stage 3 is rated 450 and the 3+ is rated 525-575 depending on if its a 9 or 9.5 inch kit . The Stage 4 is rated the same as the 3 (450) so the 3+ is actually rated a lot higher than the 3 and 4.   The question is will stage 3 hold up for my 3400 T4 setup?? or am i definately going to need the 3+?  I think i just gave myself a head ache...

You'll need axles way before slipping the clutch.

Here's that other site that I was trying to find to order from, as you can see, this price is before shipping. So I saved close to $80 .. But TGPilot(Kenny) at one time sold spec clutches, he never wrote me back for a quote on one, but atleast touch base with him and see what he can do for you all that maybe on the search for one.

I'm told the stage 3 is pretty darn harsh for everyday driving. I personally LOVE my stage 2 that I'm running in my z34.

I have a six puck stage 3. it's kind of a pain in the ass; as everyone has said it's pretty much an on/off switch.

I had to help a friend down the street change out his 4t60e on a 97 lumina 3100 eng. I've never done one before, so it wound up taking the whole weekend, so I never got around changing mine. but by next weekend I will have the stage 3 6-puck in. Hopefully it won't take me long to learn how to drive and get use to it.
