I raced an "87 TransAm tonight, It wasn't even close. I had him by about 5 lengths before it was over. Under the hood is a 305 stroked to something... I wanna say 355??? It also has an edelbrock carb, intake and headers.
I also raced this:

Its running 4lbs of boost right now. We launched and he gained half a length right off the bat. Throughout 1st gear he pulled ahead a length. The rest of the race I held pretty well but he pulled a little more. I was very excited for his win because I've put a whole lot of wrench time into this car. :icon_mrgreen:
Now we are working on a tune for 10psi. Not bad for a 4 banger!
That 240 should be winning, those things probably weigh 500-600lbs+ less than our heavy ass cars.
Tonight I raced a 90's taurus sho, a shortstar intrigue, a tuscany 5spd (tiburon) and a foxbody stang 5spd.
I beat all of them except the mustang. I lost by 4 lengths but its also got some serious mods.
Good job, I hope you are doing this somewhere safe and outa sight / outa mind.
The SHO should have been realclose if the guy knew how to drive it (keeping the rpms high) thosemotors are wicked + if it was a 5-speed he would have weighed less.

Just a "fwiw" type post: A good running stock 5spd fox body can easily turn mid 14's in the 1/4 mile.
