Post by: GPChief on May 18, 2010, 11:12:32 PM
Does anyone know how to un LOC the tape deck in a 1990 STE ?

Mine went into LOC after I reinstalled it , and now "ticks" at me every 10-15 seconds.

This is driving me even crazier than I already am..... Please help!!

These should have you covered. ;) For the dealer code, a quick google search should come up with a valid one to use.

EDIT: Quick search found this code to try - "When you hear him tell you to press "2" for Pontiac, press 206010"

Here's one more I found: 620529

Matt,

Thanks for the help, but that procedure is for the CD players.  I need the sequence for the TAPE decks.

I have tried this sequence, and holding the "Mute" button also.

Thanks,
Thomas

That's the only thing I found listed Thomas. When I go to the theftloc procedure listed for the tape decks, I get directed to what I posted here, so I'm not sure what to tell you. I even looked in the FSM and it shows the same thing.

Solved - bought new CD/MP3 Pioneer deck.

Now the engine idles rough...........starting to get a little frustrated.  I think its a grounding issue.
