OK so I have a question, and wasn't sure where to post this. So I run the car for a little while and then shut it off. Then when I first start the car after a little while, it will sound like it is missing and the exhaust smells rich for about 10-15 seconds or so. Then after that, it clears up and runs fine. Does this have something to do with the TGP stock tune, or is it a delayed response from the oxygen sensor?
Sounds like the fuel injectors are leaking. Try hooking up a fuel pressure gauge and see if you loose fuel pressure after you shut it down. Or you can pull the UIM and remove the fuel rail and visually see if they are leaking
Well damn, I hope it is not the injectors. It has always done this since I have put the new Ford yellow top injectors in the new motor.
Injectors or a cracked icm/coil
So if it were a cracked coil/ICM, wouldn't it throw a code? The only code it has thrown was a knock sensor code, and since I fixed that, it hasn't thrown any other codes.
Actually, I don't think it would. I ran on a bad coil for 2 months before I figured it out. Thats OBD1 for ya.
Well that's interesting. Has anyone here had problems with the Ford yellow tops leaking? Also, it seems like it gets worse the shorter the amount of time the car is shut off. Now it will try to stall itself out when I put it in gear and give it a little bit of gas to get it going. But that lasts for like a minute tops.
I have same problem, ever since I put in yellow tops, it idles weird, but runs fine. I think it's just cuz I got stock chip presently.
Stock tune on a modified engine is my opinion..
that's probably true, I am getting my chip redone, actually PMing flybynite when done with this mesage.
