1) What is the standard fuel rail pressure that the C302s would be running at in a Ford?
2) What exactly is everyone basing their "~22 lbs/hr" figure off of for running the yellow tops in our cars?
i believe the foxes are around 35-37 psi
IIRC Ford is 38psi and GM is 43psi.
Our injectors are rated at 43.5psi(pretty much the standard rating these days). The ford's w/ the "19lb" injectors typically run 38psi as Adam said above. I've had some mid 90's yellow tops flow tested before and they were all around 212-214cc/min for what it's worth. Depending on where you find your conversion info, you'll end up with slight different lbs/hr results. No matter what they actually flow, they're plenty for almost any TGP w/ a stock turbo unless you have a really aggressive tune.
I'm sending off a set of yellow tops to have them cleaned + flow tested soon. I might toss a stock TGP injector in the box with them and have the company that's cleaning them for me flow test it as well so we'll have an apples to apples comparison for once...
This is good info, thanks guys.
Looks like I have more investigating to do, since my rail pressure is only around 33 lbs running... *sigh*
well with the car idling and high vacuum the Fuel pressure regulator probably will only let the car run 33 lbs of fuel pressure. unplug the FPR, and see where it jumps too
Just wanted to bump this back up to post this. I just had some yellow tops reconditioned...note the lb/hr rating they gave to them @ 43.5psi. ;) Every flow test for a clean set of yellow tops I've seen has had only about a 1% flow difference max between a set of them.
