Title: It's Still There
Post by: Fred931 on December 05, 2010, 04:01:44 PM
http://www.autocollections.com/index.cfm?key=1668&action=details&tab=inventory (http://www.autocollections.com/index.cfm?key=1668&action=details&tab=inventory)

Searched for the thread about this, and the last post there was in 2004, so I decided not to wake the dead.

There isn't any date on the web site that I can find, so I'm just assuming that it is up-to-date.

Why hasn't anyone bought this yet?  :dunno:

Fred that car sold at the last mecum auction that was held in Des Moines, Iowa. It was in an issue of high performance pontiac. It was the lowest selling pontiac that went across the block in that auction. It sold for $2800. Im not sure if that site bought it from mecum and raised the hell out of the price or if that article is old as hell. I have the magazine if you want me to post what the article says.

There are several threads here newer than 2004 about that Pike's Peak TGP. ;)  The auto collections in Nevada had it for several years. Someone finally purchased it from them a few years back and the owner at that time sent it to a member here that owned a performance shop(Kenny aka "TGPilot"). Kenny removed the roll cage and other stuff and made it more of a street car for that owner. Most of the stickers were removed from it at some point as well. It was on ebay a few times after that and might have changed owners again before it was sold at the Mecum  auction.

Here are a few threads I found on a quick search...

The car now has no stickers and sits in a warehouse in Colorado Springs, CO.  I could tell you where but then I would be obligated to silence you fore ever (J/K).  Ive seen it, touched it, sat in it, was even asked if I wanted to take it for a spin.

From the articles mfew gave, the tune in the car was crappy and definitely different from the original racing tune.

No, my great friend TGPilot informed me I would be dissapointed so I didnt bother.

I may see about getting a pic with the car in a few weeks just as a "teaser".
