Post by: 1trucavalier on December 13, 2002, 08:33:09 AM
what clutch are you 5-speed owners using?  shatterforce, starclutch, ram???  I just bought the shifter, console, cables, clutch and brake pedal, clutch master cyl/slave, tranny mounts for $150 Junkyard.  All I need is a tranny.  I found a 1990 beretta gtz with the 5TM40 HD tranny but it had 146K on it :(  thats a lot of miles!

i just sent starclutch a e-mail about a 282 stage 3.  I had the stage 2 on my cavalier and its been proven street and track in the j-body community but I don't remember if any 3.1's were using it.  Hopefully they answer back soon.  My stage 2 only cost $319 with clutch, new hydro release bearing, and bright yellow pressure plate.   I don't like centerforce, never have, never will.  I had a centerforce in my turbo mx-6 and it only lasted 5 mos, then I had to go back and forth with them.  Of course they will claim that there was grease or oil on the disc and it will cause it to mess slip and burn up which is correct but I got it installed by AAMCO which is the most expensive, and referable shop out there.  They went back in checked it out and just said clutch just wasn't up to the standards to handle power like it claimed and also it messed up my tranny! SUNS OF ##$!@#@#%!
