Hello! My name's Austin. I currently own a '96 SE sedan. She's my first car and my baby. I'm looking into a '90 TGP as a weekend toy/long-term project. It's a bit crusty, and needs a lot of work (PMIII hell...) but I am seriously tempted by this car. I am going to look at it again tonight and will take lots of pics for you guys. If you like, I will post pics of my '96 to hold you over while I'm out =P
Question though: It has serious PMIII issues, as in, motor seems to constantly run and there's no assist. Anything I can look at to see if it's just a simple fix or if I'm going to have to convert? On another forum a relay was mentioned...
There are quite a few things that can cause constant running such as the relay, pressure switch, leaks, etc. Did you check the brake fluid level? Read the brake fluid cap and follow the instructions about pumping the brake pedal ~40 times before removing the cap.
Honestly, I would stay far away from that car with the rust and other issues it has. Hold out for a nicer one.
looking forward to the pics of your 96, Ive got a 1996 GTP also.
There is nothing simple about the PM3 bastard child. Seems all powermaster are shot by now. Vacume brake booster swap would be in order.
