I am just wondering why some of our TGPs came with these over the cast Iron units. Out of all the cars I have had and still own not a single one came with them. I have checked aftermarket units from parts stores but all are the same. I know they did make some custom units through FFP if I recall. But where the heck do the OEM aluminum units popup!?! A couple members have them including NTRCOOL, and a couple others. I have 89s and 90s and I never came across them on either.
I asked on W-body where I could get new dogbones and they gave me this: http://mrzperformance.vstore.ca/product_info.php/cPath/55_74/products_id/161
True I have seen those I am talking about factory units that came on the cars I was just curious on why they changed it up.
Aluminum dogbones are common as far as aftermarket replacements go. I have pioneer brand aluminum ones on one of my cars. My other TGP has aluminum as well, but no clue what brand they are.
From the factory = I'm not sure what they had. I would have to look at old factory photos to see. I believe the mounts on my '93 were original in about 2001ish when I changed them for the first time. They were cast iron.
Thanks for the info it was something that kinda puzzled me but I never thought of asking about it so to speak.
