Post by: tgpfarmer on December 19, 2011, 11:39:12 AM
this is probably a no brainer to most of you seasoned tgp guys but i replaced my factory airbox with a open cone filter and WOW instant spooling amazing how much this helped my bottom end not to mention i can actually hear the turbo now recommend to anyone who hasn't already done this! will try and post pics later. gonna clean the engine up as soon as it cools down a little

It works much better if the filter is mounted directly on the turbo. Then the accordion tubing can't be sucked shut.

Anything is better than that small airbox made for a 1L geo.

There's a thread just above this one about filters that will fit directly to the turbo if you choose to change your setup later: http://www.tgpforums.com/index.php?topic=225.0

That was one of the first things I did to mine, right off the turbo. Huge difference and love the sound.
