Title: Yay! Saved another TSTE Maroon.
Post by: Shifter23 on January 09, 2013, 05:27:13 PM
I haven't been very active on here for quite some time due to a lot of changes in my life.  But I have started to get back into my Turbo Grand Prixs and in doing so I picked up another TSTE today from Dekalb, IL.  Car is very straight and has a very nice interior and exterior.  The hood needs a repaint but other than that only two touch up spots and she will be very presentable.  I bought dbtk2's car years back but I wanted to still find one to keep stock.  So finally I found one local and got her for $700.  The only serious issue to address is that it will be getting a new engine cradle this Spring, the undercarriage is excellent aside from the weak cradle.  Pics to follow when I get it home Monday.

These have to be very rare by now, especially after starting with a 1000 made and owners not taking good care of them. Glad to hear stories like this where someone atleast tried to keep them in good condition. Keep us updated.

Yep years back I had a white one but I had to let it go due to financial issues.  700 white were made 300 were maroon posted on here years back.

I don't recall anyone posting a color-mix breakdown of the TSTE's, but maybe I'm wrong.  Nobody knows for sure about the TGP coupes, so I would assume it's the same way about the TSTE's.

I may be wrong but IIRC it was 600 white and 400 maroon.

It may be I do remember there was a couple conformations on color brakedown for Sedans.  On coupes the only info known was 750 in 89 and 2000 in 1990.  Color breakdown was being worked on but never confirmed yet.

Ive got the info somewhere, having owned one of my TSTEs for 11 years Ive collected a"little" bit of info, trivia on them.

Once I'm home in 3 days I'll look it up and post with source it came from.

Yep no pics as of yet but I have been working on a lot of different things lately.  I just got my 91 5-speed GTP up and running next is a 90 TGP that is still in NTRCOOL's garage then I need to get on the TSTE but try to get work done on other projects including my drag car which well... ugh...
