Title: Rear Reading Lamps
Post by: visusens on January 12, 2003, 02:12:51 PM
Does anyone have a set of rear reading lamps that they would like to sell? Mine are so badly corroding, I could not save them.

Mine were corroded also. I bought another set from someone and they were just as bad. I wonder if these are still available from a dealer? Maybe I'll have to stop and check tomorrow.

Hey Red are those the rear lights you bought from me?  They seemed fine in the GP when I pulled them. If they did not work well...please let me know and I will give you your money back... 8)

Yeah, there the ones I got from you. One of the terminals was broke off also. And both lenses were pushed inside the lights. I can't see how to get them apart or I'd put the lenses back in place.

I'm not too worried about the money. I have a funny feeling it was UPS's fault anyway. The ashtrays both had clips broke off of them and the Pontiac logo off the front of the car was bent.

If I wanted my money back I would've contacted you. Don't worry about it.

Oh, I don't feel ripped off. Not by you at least. I guess I just don't like UPS anymore. Hell, I bought a radiator from Chris A. and the 'ol lady was watching the guy take it out of the truck. 1st thing she noticed was the bottom of the box was open. Then the radiator fell out. It only fell maybe 2" but still, he should've been paying attention. Turns out what looked like the bottom to her actually was the top. The box even said This End Up! Overpaid idiots if you ask me. I send anything I can through USPS. Cheaper and alot faster. A guy on a corvette forum I get on gave me an mp3 conversion and burning kit for the cost of shipping. (he couldn't figure it out) I pm'd him that I recieved it and he said he sent it out the day before. And there was no damage to the box at all. But any way enough of me ranting! :drinking: And I'll get back to you on the other thing after I get some sleep.

Faster eh?

I stopped using USPS primarily because it seemed it was more expensive and all the extras didn't do any good. Insurance for anything is a crock, they always talk their way out of a claim. But with USPS, I always have to stand in line, they over scrutinize the package, and I don't ever care for the way mail people treat the packages. Then you have to pay extra for the tracking number, excuse me a delievery confirmation number (you have to ship it overnight to get a tracking number), signature, only certain packages can be shipped certain ways. I had two envelopes of equal dimensions, EXCEPT, one was bubble padded and was a little thicker. I couldn't send the thinner lighter one First class, I had to send it priority!!!! If its too big, they just throw it down in the gutter, I've found alot of USPS stuff in my street! Thats why I get it sent to work,  we have a big mailbox and someone will see it before 11pm when I get home. UPS isn't flawless, but they seem to be alot better for the most part than USPS. No really stupid rules, one stop shopping, I always get a tracking number and$100 insurance, and their tracking system works better than USPS, and I can print off nice labels from my computer.

Oh well, what works for you works I suppose. My fiance loves USPS, hardly ever ships UPS.....sooooooo

I think i need to find new tape or get one of those box staple guns. I sent something out today and wrapped it in duck tape. if it come apart, I don't know what to do!

Chris

Are you sure they are good? Pull them out and see if the connections are corroded. If they are in good shape I'll take them. What's your email address? BTW, they are easy to get out if your careful. There are 3 tabs holding them in.
