Title: Pulley
Post by: HOLYTGP on January 19, 2003, 07:51:05 PM
I was wondering, has anyone installed any uderdrive pulleys on their TGP.  If so, where did you get them, and did they make a noticable increase in power, or a waste of money.

I wouldn't go there personally.

The TGP makes lots of heat and eats lots of power, so the alternator and water pump don't need to spin any slower. The only thing left is the power steering and that doesn't eat much HP when not steering. What power you might see improved would be a loss to cooling and electricity.

I agree with Chris. Especially about the alternator. Most people have enough trouble keeping an alt. on their car. Wouldn't it have to work harder since it's spinning slower?

Yeah, as hard as it can at that speed...

If an accesory draws 50 watts of power, as the voltage drops off the amperage draw goes up. So you end up putting more strain on the wires and alternator if the alternator slows down as the accesories draw more current. Remember Power(watts=voltsxamps .
