Here is the deal. My stock radio works fine. I bought a new pioneer cd player for the car and installed it. The cd player turns on and plays cds but puts out no sound. I know the player and my new radio harnees is good beacuse i put it in my friends tgp. Is there a problem with my wiring in my car??
Carl
I have put several stereos in and any car that has a factory amplifier will require you to supply switched power to the cars power antannae wire in order to turn on the amp. It has been two years since I put my system in my TGP and I think I had to do this but I am not sure. At least this should tell you why your not getting sound. (Your Amplifier is not turning on)
i didnt know a tgp had a amp, iwonder where its at?
Its right under the radio against the heater duct. It only powers the door speakers tho, so it should work to the other speakers.
Chris
yea its really wierd i dont get any sound at all
Did you accidentally blow a fuse? Some radios will power up, but not work right somehow if the constant power fuse is blown. IE it uses the ACC power for everything but the amp, and the CONST power for the amp portion ????'
Did you swap back in your factory stereo and it works?
yea each time i put the factory radio in it works great. I believe all my fuses are good.
i got it fixed guys. My ground wire in my factory harness was bad. The wiring in this cars sucks!
