Title: air filter
Post by: HOLYTGP on February 05, 2003, 03:02:53 PM
I went to the parts store today to have them order me an ru1810 k&n air filter, like it says in Jeff's chip packet, but they said that that is not a part number for the filter, they said it was a cap.  Are they wrong?  Is that what I need to order it?  Thanks for any help!

RU-1810 is the filter part number. I copied this from K&N's site, showing it is still listed. It should have a rubber end cap. The ru-1240pk is the part number for the pre-charger that fits the filter.

What is a K&N PreCharger?
The K&N PreCharger is a specially designed filter wrap made to extend the service interval of your K&N Filtercharger when used in very dusty conditions. They are made from durable polyester material containing a uniform weave. The PreCharger will stop small dirt particles with minimal restriction to the airflow of the filter.  The PreCharger is designed to be run dry and can be cleaned with K&N Filter Cleaner. The PreCharger is custom made to fit each application. Double stitched elastic openings assure that the PreCharger will stay in place. The PreChargers are available in a variety of colors, all with a silk-screened K&N PreCharger logo.

Back in town now, been out for a week, tons of emails backed up.  I have always used Summit to order and get delivered K&N Air Filters and accessories, their huge buying power makes their delivered price very competitive to locals, who apparently don?t know what they are talking about but Summit will know what you want, either the RU1810 or the RU1390 which gives a little more room for fitment!!!.  Till you get the filter, just keep the boost down a little and it will be fine.

Thank for waiting.
