What are the acceptable readings (Ohms) for the injectors? And is it O.K. to just replace a few insted of all at once?
I was wondering that too, and how do you check them, more specically where should i be putting my VOM to check it. Thanks
The injector Ohms should be between 12.2 & 12.8 Ohms, reading taken from the only two post on the injectors.
As far as replacing all at once......to expensive
I was going to check my injectors tonight but i got to looking at it and the only way i can get my injectors (i think anyways) is to take my inkake manifold off. And i don't want to mess with the throttle body. Is there any easy way to run the test? Thanks
The ONLY way to test them all is to remove the upper intake. :?
I found one with no reading at all - replaced it and its like a new car now. :D
Two Questions: 1. Is there any way i can check the front three without taking the manifold off? 2. If i do take it off is there i would have to espically careful with, vacuum lines on the Throttle body and stuff like that. I really don't want to screw my car up any more than it already is. Well i geuss i have three, do i have to take those six sided allen wrench look a likes off to remove my manifold?. Because i don't have a tool do to it with. Thanks Again,
You will have to take off the intake. Here is how I took mine off. Unbolt dogbones and pull motor forward.Pull the 4 vacuum lines out of the throttle body, carefully. Take the 2 bolts out of throttle body and pull it away from the intake. Unbolt the EGR valve and pull it away from the intake. Remove the throttle cable bracket. You will have to take the top half of it off to get to the bracket nuts. It is the long black flat piece going across the back of intake. Remove the bracket that holds the map sensor on. Make sure the plug wires and/or brackets are not connected to intake. Right behind where the throttle body mounts in the front there is one line to disconnect from the plenum. Take the 9 bolts out of the plenum. Take one last look to be sure everything is disconnected. Pull just the front of the plenum up and look under it. You will see a hose that connects to the bottom of it. This will need dosconnected. It comes from the PCV valve. Now the intake should come right off. Be sure you have new gaskets for the intake plenum, throttle body, and EGR valve.
actually you can test the 2 of the injectors without taking the manifold off I believe. I just had my upper off and you can clearly see the injector pigtail of 2 of the injecs on both sides of the block. I am not exactly sure but you can def see them because the manifold does not sit over top of them. If you want to test all of course you must pull the manifold off.
It just like anything else, do them all or none. Yes its a pain but a labor of love.
