Title: Radiator fan
Post by: TGPRobNY on February 17, 2003, 03:39:38 PM
I noticed the blade is wobbly due to alot of play in the motor. Should I order a factory replacement or find a better aftermarket model?  Thanks

Factory will be expensive, if it isn't already discontinued.  You could go to like Autozone or Pepboys for a aftermarket replacement.  You could also go to the junkyard and get a motor from another car.  But you'll probably need the fan also, as most of them are attached with a nut.  Ours are attached with a clip.  There is a specific combo of fan and motor that will fit in the fan shroud perfectly, but I cannot remember what that combo was.  I've got it installed on my TurboSTE.  If I remember, I'll let you know.

There is an updated motor/fan combo that is the replacement for the original clip style.

I have a good used motor if you are interested, however, I don't have a fan. Mine is the newer nut style shaft.

However, you could use the nice dual fan setup from ramchargers that  I posted elsewhere. Its a very nice setup that you should be able to adapt to the TGP and it only cost $79!
