I have a alpine cd player in my car so the controls on the wheel are no good to me.... and i was wondering if i could take those out and put in a new part that didnt have the buttons....i just got the car so i dont know much about them yet thanx to neone that can help :D
You can get the center pad from a GP that didn't have the controls. Or you can get the adapter that allows the steering wheel controls to be wired to a wireless remote. That way you can still use your controls on the wheel.
where do you get the adapter for the controls on the wheel?
I got mine from pfyc.com (see link below). I did some research and they have a really good price on it. It's the PAC SWI-X. It's a converter that takes your steering wheel controls and converts the signal into a infrared signal so you deck will recognize it. Works good and pretty easy to install.
