Well guys my car is done. My tranny has lost 4 gear. That is going to cost 900.00 for a JEFF M tranny kit plus 350.00 to get the kit installed. Plus the motor has had a miss in it ever sence i have had it, and now it high idles. On top of that stuff this weekend my turnsignals dont work, my sunroof broke, my steering rack sprung a leak and my motor now has a loud tick when it gets worm. I dont think this car likes me. I was going to get the tranny fixed but now with the motor going south i dont know what im going to do. I would really hate to get ride of this car, i bought it because it was GM, front wheel drive, and fast and if i get rid of it i dont know what id get. I just thought id let you guys know whats going and what kind of decision i have to make. This sucks! :(
That sucks..sorry to hear that man. One quick question though..what is a Jeff M Tranny kit? I'm just curious, as I will be rebuilding my TGP tranny next fall. Thanks

That sucks,
I feel for you, I finally got my TSTE running to perfection and two weeks later...WHAM, broke something serious. What a time for this to happen. OH WELL, its only money right? you can't take it with you
Corey
Jeff can get everything component that?s inside the transmission. He sells special instructions on how to put it together so the tranny will be stronger and sustain high speed.
man why not just get a reg 4t60 which i have seen for $200-400 max just to get you buy until you can get you turbo specific stocker fixed. The reg tranny of course won't be able to take boost forever but it will get you by for now.
Sorry to hear of you bad luck, I like my TGP almost better than my 97 GTP even with the age of the car.
You may want to explore the possibility of sending the car to a local community college or high-school automotive program. They repair cars for free all you pay for are the parts. I have even known people who have sent their cars to prison, where 100% frame up restorations are completed by the inmates as part of their "reabilitation". The drawback to these programs is the time involved.....usually 4-6 weeks for the semester.
Good luck.
