I can tell you from personal experience that the fix works.  I just did this last week to fix my flickering "check gauges" light and it worked like a charm.  No more annoying light!

I did this fix on mine, and it fixed the light problems that I was having. But I still have accuracy problems. :( Someone mentioned that it might be a ground somewhere that's bad. I haven't started looking yet though. Waiting for my wiring diagrams to get here.

Any chance you're going to post those wiring diagrams somewhere when you get them?   I'm sure some people (like me) would really appreciate it!

I got the complete 90 GM Service manual off ebay..so they're the wiring diagrams from that..and they should be here any day now.   I'll have to see about posting them when they get here

And on the issue of the innacurate dash, my speedo is off by 20 mph (HUD is dead on), the tach is off by 2 or 3 grand (shifts at 9000RPMs), the oil pressure is pegged all the time, the boost never breaks 4 (even though I can hear the turbo working like a mofo), and the gas gauge is off by around 1/2 a tank. I ran out once on the highway because of it.  :(

Wow, is there anything on your dash that does work?  Thank goodness for the HUD.   Does sound like it could be a ground somewhere.  Have you tried swapping in another cluster to see if it's in the wiring or the cluster itself?

Yes..thank goodness for the HUD :) I have the spare N/A cluster from my LE parts car. I'm gonna try swapping that in when I get the TGP back in the garage for more work. :)
