Title: GTP vs TGP
Post by: Reddogg on July 10, 2002, 12:16:45 AM
I was in the GTP, a damn older Gran Prix pulls next to me, I thought it was the 1st gen GTP, non-charged, DOHC 3.4 car, but then I see the Turbo Grand Prix on the side, I was like, OH SHIT. He saw me lookin, & asked if I wanted to race. I beat him pretty good, but I was still impressed by that cars performance, so here I am, telling you guys. Send me pics of your car, I frickin love GM Turbo car. Sorry to say but the Syclone is my favariote, maybe its cause my trucks a very rare version of the Syclone. I like the GN to, & the TY, turbo Monte Carlo, & so on.

Geeeee  was this a red TGP??? There is only one in Colorado Springs & I have the White STE in the springs.   Am taking the STE to Bandimere Fri evening.  We will see what it does in stock form.

The guy in the TGP (if the Red one) is TGPilot - send him a message.

Would love to check out your Sonoma.....

Love to see the TGP, the car was accully black, not red, so I am not sure. If you wanna come by, & see the GT, that's cool, but we can not take it for a spin. The Sonoma GT is going through a midlife crisis, as is my dad whos helping me build it. Its geting a 383 stroker, narrowed rear, tubbed, trans going to be rebuilt soon. Getting it built to handel max of 575hp. I plan around that much, with the juice, that is. But who knows, any way, it has no motor or trans, they are both sitting on the floor of my garage. If you want to come by, I live 6 blocks from Wasson High, send me an e-mail, I'll give you my phone number. Maybe, if we are lucky, my dad will let me take the GTP for a spin. Hehehehehe. Anyways, e-mail me. BTW is the STE turbo?

  I ran a 4 door silver GTP about 2 weeks ago and it was neck and neck for three light to light runs. I have only lost to one car in this town doing light to light runs in the Springs. I know how to pick my battles... :D  We all should go down to Pueblo this Friday night and slap a few rice burners around! (with our times of course)

The STE is white & yes turbo, finally running like it should after $$ in parts replacment.  Didnt know there was a black TGP in town.

I live off of Austin Bluffs & Templeton Gap.

Have a 97 GTP also, 3.4 pully, 3" exhaust w/magnaflows, Thrasher intake, 180 stat, 8MM wires...

Tomorrow I am going to the Rocky Mountain Club Grand Prix (RMCGP) meeting in Denver then to Bandimere you are both welcome to come along......

I'll see if my dad will let me take his GTP. I dought it though. If he does, then I have to convince my Mom too. Then we have to go to a Notary, & get it noterized, that both parents allowed me to go to Bandemiers. Its a libility thing. Once I get my NHRA certification, which I am doing soon, I won't have to worry about that. I have to be NHRA certified to drive the Drag car at school. I may see you guys there, but it is un-likely. If you want to come look at the Sonoma GT, send me an e-mail at killinreddogg357@aol.com, & i'll give you my phone number, so we can get together. I may even be able to arrange for us to ride in a Syclone, a buddy of mine, live real close to me. Well, I am outta here.
