Title: New Styling and headlight cover
Post by: maximage on April 06, 2003, 02:38:50 PM
I'm thinking of doing some things to my TGP tp get it ready to show off this year. I own a tuner shop so having a demo car is a must, and the TGP is so unique I cant pass up the opportunity to mess with it.

First, I am thinking about paintint it Black Metallic. it is curently red. REason being, I cant find any rims that accent the car better than the stocks, and If I paint the gold center black with the polished lip, and black out the car, I think it will really catch attention at shows.

Which brings me to my next question. Anyone know where to get smoked headlight covers for these beasts? I had some for my old 89 SE but sold them with the car 2 years ago. they were with the car when I bought it, so I dont know where they were purchased, and my distributors cant find them anywhere.

Do you have an Advance Auto Parts or Auto Zone around you? They can order the GTS headlight covers. Just make sure they know you have foglights.

If you go to http://www.gtstyling.com they list the part number for the TGP as GT0146.  Like redturbo90 said, your local parts store should be able to get them for you.  But if you own a tuner shop don't you have some connections where you could just get them yourself?

I think a nice silver, or dark silver would look killer with the charcoal interior and gunmetal wheels.

Well, thanx for the info. I was actually able to get some through a distributor, but The part # provided here was how he found them. I got the smoked covers and they lok great! They'll look even better whne the car is repainted.

I'm thinking of VW Platinum Grey.

Just for the fun of bragging, I bought some HL cover on ebay a few weeks back for $10.99  .  Careful though, this is my 3rd pair in the last 4 years.
If your not careful you will snap the retainers clips right off, or dont close you hood without them full down in place.
