Well..the oil in my intake pipe and hoses came back. There was some in there last time I pulled them off, so I cleaned it out, and it's back. I'm thinking that it's either a plugged return line or blown seals in the turbo. The car doesn't really smoke like it's burning oil, but the idle is a little on the rough side when it's warm. I hope it's just a plugged return line. But I was wondering if anyone knows of a place where I can get just the seals for the turbo. I plan on having it rebuilt into a hybrid next year, so I really don't wanna pour money into just a T25 rebuild right now. I justh wanna replace the seals. Any Ideas? Thanks!
I can get the rebuild kit cheap.
BUT here is one thing to check.. I had oil in my COMPLETE intake system. the pcv valve was plugged and was blowing oil into the intake from the front valve cover breather and all through the turbo and piping. I pulled all the piping off and washed it and the oil came back.. ends up it was pooling in the I/C. So i pulled the I/C and ran it through my buddies parts washer at his shop. walla now everything is clean again. what are you going to rebuild it as, T25/T28?
But if you need a rebuild kit let me know i can get an exact price.

I don't have oil in my whole intake system...just from the turbo to the TB. I checked on that before. And my turbo will be rebuilt as a T28/T3 Hybrid. I'm going to have a shop in Cali do it, since they have a sweet ball bearing setup. That setup will cost around 1k though..so that's a project for next summer. That's why I just need seals for a T25 right now...but thanks for the offer.

the T28/T3 hibred is a very sweet setup. you doing a custom X-over? let me know if you need a hand w/ a custom x-over. and i think the rebuild kit is like $75-$80 or something like that.

The T28/T3 supposedly bolts on in place of the T25...no custom pipe needed...if I understood Jeff M correctly. If I didn't understand him correctly, then I will probably need a hand with the pipe...when the time comes :) Also, what rebuild kit is $80? The T25 kit? Because that's a pretty good price for a kit :)

I have been given the same price on every rebuild kit i called about.
I can check the flanges on the T28 and the T25 but i thought they where different.

1K! wouldn't it be cheaper just to but like a t3/t4 or are you going for the stock look. I guess i haven't looked a lot at turbo prices but that's a lot. Anybody have any idea what kind of boost you can push wiht a t3/4?

key word he used is "BALL BEARING" and "HIBRED". Both of thoes alone are $$$$$.. T3/T04E is good for ~22psi. my roomates turbo was on a CRX racecar running 20psi its a turbonetics 60-1 HIFI. Its peak efficentcy is ~16psi. a t28/t3 runs about 800+ retail because its a hibred. then the ballbearing option is not cheap! so a $1000 ball bearing hibred turbo is a sweet deal!
here is sight for cheap garret turbo's (mostly T3's and T3/t4's)

My goal is 350hp, and yes..I'm going for the stock bolt-on look. I'm also trying to stay within the limits of the automatic transmission. In the future, I plan on purchasing another TGP from somewhere..stripping it down...throwing a 5-speed and a t3/t4 hybrid in it...and seeing what she can do. But that's a few years down the road. I need to get this one done first :D
Shane,
Where is it that you got turbo rebuild kit prices from? I'll more than likely be needing one in a few weeks. :( I haven't checked the oil line yet, but I have a feeling it's been plugged since before I got the car, and the seals are probably shot by now. :( Just let me know. Thanks! :)
