Note: I've also got a 1990 Turbo 3.1 block, crank, etc. $50, Same deal...

I got this engine, and disassembled it a while ago. I had intended on rebuilding and turbo-ing it, but now those plans have changed.

So, I've decided to sell it all. I'm not sure of the year, or what car it came out of, but the parts look pretty good. There is a block, crank, pistons, cam, lifters, oilpan, front timing cover, no heads-sorry, and other various 3100 parts...some from this engine some not. I don't want much, $50 and it's yours. But you need to pick it up, way too much to ship. I'm located in SE Wisconsin, and I'll drive about 1/2 hour any direction to meet someone if they want it.

This is a pretty good deal I think, especially if someone wants to mess with rebuilding their 3100...without sacrificing the current engine.

If anybody wants pics of anything, let me know and I'll get them for you. Help me sell ths stuff guys, it's going to fund the L67 swap project. I'm planning on doing a full write-up (like my Turbo-5speed swap) on the L67 swap.

****Edit****

The L67 is going to come through.  So, the swap is for sale.  I want to get $1200 / offer for everything.  Any offers? (or else, it's Ebay)

****Edit****

Ok, here's the deal.

I've got the chance to possibly buy an L67 engine/trans from a local yard. So, it's time to see if anyone wants to buy my Turbo 3.1 and transmission as a complete drop-in swap. This would include:

-Engine (about 120k miles, runs strong)
-Turbo (also about 120k miles, hardly any play, no oil burning at all, great boost)
-Crossover pipe (replaced bellows--no leaks)
-Rebuilt automatic transmission (less than 500 miles)
-Wiring
-ECM + topgun 160 chip
-Leak-free TGP radiator
-Intercooler
-Fans
-TGP trans cooler
-Hoses
-Lines
--Everything needed to swap in a Turbo 3.1 into your car!

No need to gather various parts from sources unknown, and hope it works. You can drive the car before I pull everything (I'm located in SE Wisconsin). Transmission shifts nice and firm (as it should with 500 miles on it), Mobil 1 full synthetic fluids in the engine and transmission, and all gaskets seals were replaced on engine about 1k miles ago.

Of course, this also means it will be time to sell my TGP parts inventory. I have a few T25 cores, a T3 core, 3 crossover pipes (2 of which are un-molested), a downpipe, 1 engine-worth of TGP parts, 1 engine worth of 3100 parts, an additional set of TGP heads--ported, and other various TGP parts.

Soo, any interest?

Or you could ask them if the valve body is different between N/A and Turbo.  If they say no, walk.

Hmmm, how'd they manage that?

General / Oil Return Line Question
June 13, 2003, 02:25:03 PM
Quote from: redturbo90They should've used a SS braided flex line.

Thats what I use for my fuel lines and my oil return line.  I woudn't use anything else.

Ignition or fuel.

Have him check the three coils and the module.  Were the plug wires replaced?  If not, this should be done.  Also, if he has a scan tool, have him check to see if there is any detonation or knock when it stumbles.  This can be caused by many things.

Also, have him check the fuel pressure, the fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel injectors.  These are some causes of stumble in the TGP engine.  Hopefully he understands that this isn't just an ol' 3.1 with a turbo bolted on.

Performance / DYNOED MY TGP! S-AFC ?
May 01, 2003, 02:54:49 PM
When I did my dyno run, my A/F was like 11:1 or 12:1.  Just right.  I was using a custom chip (pretty much stock except for 5 speed changes) and an MBC.  I got 202hp and 275 ft lbs at the wheels.  This was a pull from 3k to 5500 in 4th gear.  There is a pic of the dyno sheet on my site.  It shows a graph of the A/F during the run.  Your richness may just be the leaking crossover or leaking injectors.  I don't really think adding an AFC will help much now.  These cars don't really need an AFC until larger turbos/other mods start happening.  Get Jeffs chip, it's only $275 (I think) and you're done.  Well worth it.
