Problems & Solutions / no fuel
March 16, 2003, 01:00:47 AM
Well the injectors worked!  Fired right up the first crank. Now I just have to mount the intercooler and pipe the intake and she'll be ready for the maiden voyage.

no, do not think so, got the acc150624 number from mark brownfield who said he paid the same price. That is a set of six injectors.

Performance / Fuel injectors
March 11, 2003, 02:03:13 AM
Well if idbest has the correct part number then www.gmpartsdirect.com has the injectors for $66 each. Is jeff even cheaper then that? If he is I might go with those instead of the accels.

Problems & Solutions / no fuel
March 09, 2003, 10:50:40 PM
I finally tried to start my car this weekend with no luck. It turns over fine, has 50 psi fuel while cranking, oil pressure is coming up, noid lite blinks, has good spark, but it will not start. Sounds like timing but runs fine on starting fluid. This motor was purchased from a junk yard and I do not know how long it sat for. I rebuilt the engine so most of it is new. Sounds like it wants to start but just will not. Is it possible for fuel injectors to freeze up if the engine was sitting for an extended period of time? Anybody have any similar problems? Very frustrating weekeend.

Problems & Solutions / throttle body port
March 04, 2003, 02:23:52 AM
I am finishing up my install and have nipple on the side of the neck where the throttle body mounts and can not remember where it goes. It is opposite the egr valve. If any body can help me with some detailed info on the vacuum routing it would be greatly appreciated. This has been an eight month project on a 88 cavalier that is finally almost done!

Performance / intake hoses
February 21, 2003, 01:29:59 AM
What would happen, if anything, if i used coolant hose to pipe the intake? Heavy duty truck hose has the right diameter and has enough psi rating but is cheaper than the silicone turbo hose. I do not think heat would be an issue since it carries coolant at 200+ degrees. I do not mean using regular radiator hoses but a good 2 ply heavy duty hose. Need input!

do you have the pipe that connects to the throttle body and are you willing to sell it?

Problems & Solutions / Fuel pump?
January 30, 2003, 03:05:09 PM
The fuel pump pulsator is used to take the pulses out of the flow of fuel. Not sure if it will affect the performance of the engine at all. On my swap I used the stock fuel pump out of a 1994 corvette (not a zr1 model) that has the same psi rating and physical dimension as the original but flows at 38 gph. not sure what the stock rating was but I think it was @ 20gph.
