Hears a link to see my now former TGP and my new G6 side  by side.
The G6 now has projector headlight covers and a factory hammerhead spoiler (aka gxp style).

Well after about 10 years I am no longer a TGP owner.  I have sold mine to flybynite (very nice guy).  The car sure looked good as it was driving off, and I have been wondering if I did the right thing in letting it go.  I will just have to try to console myself with Its replacement which is also a Pontiac coupe.  It is a 2007 G6 GTP, black, 3.6 DOHC 252HP with 6 speed auto.
I will try to add a pic or 2 to this post.    When I sold my 1st TGP (NOT MINT) it only lasted a couple years with a teenager/nephew and I did take off as much TGP exclusive items as I could in a days work.  flybynite has dibs on the CD player, but other items include fuel injectors, plenum, turbo hoses, radiator(dented),louvered hood wi/hail damage, front valance, and more.   I don't want to turn this post into a sale post so I will repost to sell those items.  Take care and it has been a true pleasure to be in such good company and a very fine automobile.   Mike J.

PS, site won't allow me to add pics, file too large.

P.S.  I am posting this from my original sign on ID which I thought was no longer active.
Mike J and Mike J. are one in the same.

General / I'm still married to my TGP

Here's my car pics.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/439462/1

I put the cross/drilled & slotted rotors and oem delco pads this week.
BIG improvement.  Let my son back it out of the garage and to the curb
(He's 14, he was wearing cleat shoes)  he backed it up the curb and only a miracle kept  him from hitting the 2 large bush/tree's he went between.
No damage done.  He will not be touching any of our cars again for years.

Bye.  MJ

General / I'm still married to my TGP

Just popping in for a long overdue hello.  I don't post hardly ever anymore cuz my work is much/much more demanding now and since I do very few/minor modifications to my TGP, not that much to post.  It's in great shape with 62,000 miles (Black).  The only mods is a free-flow filter,
front and rear bolt-on strut braces, and rapidfire #8 plugs.  I just did  a fair amount of work myself in adding the plugs, new gm wires, new alternator, accy drive belt, and upper dog bones.  I am going to buy some cross/drilled front rotors very soon. Need to get a new stereo since this one is crackling.  I sold my non-mint TGP to my brother/nephew who will probably be parting it out (will post if confirmed).  His turbo went bad and rack & pinion or engine fell to the ground (can't remember which).

I do plan to get moving and buy Jeff's t-gun chip v-soon.

Just checking in to let ya know a Nice TGP is still cruising here in Dallas.
Later.

So Gearhead43, You got a TGP now.  Whats the cars future hold ?  My 53k TGP is still mostly stock, and althought these cars were ahead of their time, they can get beat by numerous new cars without mods.
Welcome to the TGP family.

For Sale / Want to Buy / Hot TGP Part on Ebay
April 04, 2004, 09:00:01 PM
There is a mystery part listed on Ebay that is very often needed for our cars.   I am just giving a heads up to get to searching Ebay since there is less than 2 days left on the auction.  The way you will know you have found this mystery part is if you see the "location" is "Mainland US".
The reason I don't just tell you what it is someone on here may already have found it and wouldn't appreciate the competition from someone who hasn't done the search labor/dedication on there own.  Only chime in if you have found the "location", "Mainland US", but don't give it away.  If no one else buys it I probably will (although I don't need it).

I was reading my current April 04 edition and on page 29 under "Years Ago"  under the 15 years ago section the following was written:

Our road test proved the PONTIAC McLAREN TURBO GRAND PRIX was a far cry from its poor-handling 1960s' and '70s' name-sakes.  The new car showed "FEROCITY AND VELOCITY," going zero to 60 in 7 seconds flat and reaching a top speed of 128 mph.  Most of its handling components had been improved, and only the brakes were a problem, with ROUGH ABS PULSES.  Accommodations included full instrumentation and even a trip computer.  We called the redesigned Grand Prix " A MUSCLE CAR WITH MANNERS."

Its nice to see they didn't forget about us.  :D

When I originally e-mailed him he had about 18 of these plugs.  He is selling me 3 because I already had 3 in my garage.  If any one needs some new stock r42lts plugs let me know by P.M.

Expires in 16 hours from this post.
Bid or I might buy them myself, but someone can use these.  I really only need 3 of these since I already have 3. Let me know if anyone has just 3 for sale or needs 3 themselves and I will sell the extra 3.

See this link for a current ebay listing of what I bought which was for a Dodge Neon.  I just cut it to the length I needed and now have 2 usable (although not identical) pipes.  Also see that post I started dated Oct 21 for description of mounting etc.  I chose option 04 because it can easily be sealed with an reducer to the stock 3" cold air port behind the pass. headlight.
