Performance / Re: Has it been done yet?

to/for me dealing with OBD2 is easier and quicker.. plus i have all the hardware here already.

I doubt i would be keeping the manifold/cross over setup so position everything so it wouldnt be an issue with the 65e harness.

Going to the obd2 pcm setup would to me , mean loosing the abs function as the hardware doesn't match. This is a common issue with guys with 97 gp's going to the 98 pcm setup. vac lines and all still there.

I go just go get a fiero , dump a L67 and bolt a turbo inplace of the down pipe, A/W IC, injectors, blah, and run 11's... or get a g8 ..

ive own 4 gp's in the past 10 yrs... 90 3.1 ,94 gtp, and i have the 2 98 gtp's currently (currently as in the last 10yrs)

Now i havent kept up on 3.1 or 3x00 tech for some years... i know it was said that the tgp 3.1 was stronger then the norm (the block that is) is that still holding true? if so was it by much to be worth?  I could get 3x00 and use that as my base to dump in and work from there. Just trying to gather all the details I need to do this right the first time :)

Problems & Solutions / Part lookup

http://www.cayton.org/grandprix/parts/index.php

just thought you guys might be able to use this to find oem part #'s for your cars.  Looks to be there is no selection for the TGP .. STE is there, but not sure if TGP was ever really an offical model name.

if you leave the model name blank should at least get you what you need.

Has anyone converted to a 98+ OBD2 configuration? (why 98? cause the 96/97 obd2 pcms SUCK,)

Also has anyone adapted a 4t65e-HD yet?

I am still on my quest to find one locally-ish to my area that isn't ragged to hell.. been wanting one since 1990 when I was ten and my dad test drove one.

I would be disabling ABS obviously with the conversion, so that would be yanked.

Bigger radiator
bigger fuel pump
bigger injectors
bigger turbo
bigger ic
all new catback
built tranny
and most likely custom turbo grind cam

My current built 98 gtp is about to the point to were i either go turbo or call it quits as there isn't much left to do other then finish the tune and take it back to the track (first run with the setup was 12.5@109) Got another few tenths to knock off easily to get closer to 11's, as I never got to spend much time on the tune before the track event i went to.

Plus I use to work for DHP until it closed doors, and now write my own scanner package to work with the AVT hardware, so i like to dink around.

Am i just retarded, or think it could be done with out pulling much hair?

Performance / OBD2?
March 17, 2008, 07:30:41 AM
I plan on getting one of these this year, as Ive been meaning to for a loooooong time.

Anyways, has anyone ever converted a setup to obd2?

I can get a newer 3100 engine for cheap and wiring harness. I haven't kept up with the 60* setup for a while, but i know there have been "changes" from 3.1 to 3x00, but should be possible to hybrid together. Main reasons, since i work for DHP, pcm editing isnt an issue, and this is what i would want, and also running the 65e/65ehd setup (3.29 gears)...
