Performance / 3.1L DOHC turbo?
May 23, 2003, 10:05:08 AM
way more trouble than it's worth, plus the DOHC block is different, with different oiling for the cam carriers and lack of a puhs rod valley, or whatever it's called. i bought an entire DOHC motor for 300 off ebay.

Performance / cold air intake

shane had an idea once of using an intake pipe with hollow walls (prolly about 1/4-1/2 inch thick) and filling it with liquid nitrogen, don't know if this is physically possible, but it sounds cool! the pressure required to keep Nitrogen in a liquid state is pretty high as nitrogen is a gas at room temp and pressure.

but regardless, if the P/N switch is working it should never pop while you're driving. i'm not even sure if it'll pop in N.

sorry, if the bushings are bad you'll feel the car shift really hard. with the poly bushing the engine isn't able to move much at all, which some people think helps put more tq to the ground, but no ones ever done a dyno test of it. bad bushings are not a good thing, but won't REALLY hurt anything unless you neglect to replace them.

or you could get the ffp poly dogbones. which are NIIIICE!

the motors going to be rebuilt, and if at all possible have them go on before it's put in. as for now it's sitting in the garage floor so getting them off is cake.

i emailed you about coming to see it then thought i should just focus all my attention on boosting the 3.4

wow shane, could that intake be any closer to the exhaust manifold? what do you think of a 93 lumi pushing the same boost as the tgp (well around 12psi max)? code is being worked out for the stock computer. PM if you're interested. Tim thought you might be willing to bend up some pipes.

my lumi had a hitch on it when i bought it, i neglected to ask the owner what he used it for. the car ran perfect when i got it too.
