For Sale / Want to Buy / Re: 90 TGP 5 speed for sale
August 20, 2013, 03:04:07 PM
I can get some pics... just no idea when.  Between my AEMT class and work, leave home when it's dark and I come back when it's dark. hahaha  I can tell you this much:  It looks like a Black TGP with Gray interior.  ;)

For Sale / Want to Buy / 90 TGP 5 speed for sale
August 20, 2013, 10:34:19 AM
Some of you may remember me, and I'm sure this for sale post will be about as worthless as I've been in the last several years to the TGP community.  :icon_redface: That being said, I have a (the first/only? hahaha) 5 Speed TGP for sale.

This is a fire sale... I don't remember half the details of this car, but I remember enough of the important parts to make it worth your while to getcherarse down here and take this car home.

Quick and dirty:  Black/Gray 5 speed 1990 TGP, blown tranny (when I say blown... I mean... I had to pick the spider gears up off the track at the Muncie Dragway. ;) )  There's a hole the size of a small third world country in the case.  The other "biggie" is that the chip was sent off to have a copy made and I never got it back.  Don't remember who I sent it to and I'm not mad at them as I didn't even care about it when I sent it off (hell I don't even remember who it was and under what conditions HAHAHAHA).  That being said the car ran GREAT and STRONG when I put it down.  It has a JeffM Xover (is that a curse word nowadays?)  along with a set of clean rims and a "running great when I stopped driving it" engine.  I also have a ton of random crap off these cars (due to owning 3 of them at once at some point) I have some wiring harness' a primered front fascia and Christ himself knows what else.  I'm willing to entertain offers on this. I wish I had a price to throw out there but I don't... but realize this:  I don't want this anymore, and I don't really care how much I get for it.  I just want it to go to someone that can use it and that needs it and that will keep it alive.  I loved these cars and want to keep the parts of them that are left in the hands of someone that will truly help with the car/scene.  So throw a number at me and show up with a dolly and we'll rummage through my house, my shed, my well building, and my garage and you can have every damn piece of GM FWD shit that I have laying around!   :icon_twisted:

If you want to call and talk about it my number is 76fivedash 7four9dot twentyonefiddy (50).  I'm an EMT with an ambulance service and work like 27 hours a day, so please leave a message and when I'm not with a pt I'll hit you back.

The car is located in Muncie INdianananaqananananaqna.

(To the admins:  If I've screwed this up 20 different ways to Sunday, my bad... I just want this thing in someone's capable hands and have very little time to devote to reading the posting rules. So let me know how to fix it and I will!)

That is SO f*cking weird.   :icon_eek:  I'm wondering if maybe some water go in there  (could have even just been condensation) and frozen or something :icon_question:

I'm doing the 4T65E-HD swap so I won't need any of the 5 speed parts, and removing all the stuff will give you an insight on installing it.   ;)

Gimme a call and swing by!

Running TGP's FTW!  If you ever want help on it I'll be glad to help... as long as it's out of my driveway.   ;)  You gonna try to swap that tranny in?  I can get that tranny rebuilt VERY cheaply, it WILL go out, but if you wanted to put in a known good tranny you could go that route.  I'd be rebuilt with a non-turbo 4-T60 rebuild kit, so it won't hold the torque forever, but it'd last until you could get the other one built.  I'm betting we could get it rebuilt for $300-$400 parts and labor.  Let me know if you want me to call my buddy.  If we can find the right parts (IOW, upgraded clutches etc.) I can get the tranny built for ~$200 or so labor.  I'll have to get a quote if you want, but it'd be an idea.  If you want the 5 speed parts, I'll sell you all mine for cheap, even cheaper if you help me pull it all out.  Just remember, the tranny has a large hole in it, so it's no good.  But everything else is good to go.

It's been awhile since it looked that good.

I think Ken got all 3 of mine.  I'm not sure if I ever gave them to you Matt.  Ken, if you don't have them let me know and I'll make sure you do get them.

The GT35R setups are finally starting to get some street cred. thanks to people like Revolutions and Steve.  They were touted as a dyno queen setup and not able to hit 10's.  People are starting to shut up about it finally.   ;)

Hey Jay...I am a dealer for Snow Performance Methanol Injection if you want me to get you a price for a kit on your Sooby.

A friendly but competing shop here in Colorado Springs has a 10.1 sec STi at 5800' above sea-level. He is running Meth injection as well as a few other goodies.

Hey, it's faster than stock.   ;)  Thanks for the offer on the Snow kit, I'm going to be using the Hydra Nemesis stand alone, and they make a pnp kit (Called the Hydramist) that I'll probably use, but if I decide to go another route, or pick one up for the TGP I'll let you know!

Yes, I'm guessing you're talking about Revolutions Tuning?  The car is not actually a shop car it's owned by Steve Tasca (Scuba Steve on most Subaru forums) and to my knowledge the fastest it had run is a 10.99 at 129 (This is also actually in his sig on NASIOC.)  But not sure if he updated it or not.  That's wicked fast for sure.

The best part is he's running the same setup I am.   ;)

i kinda figured when you mentioned the tranny had a hole blown in it whose car you were getting

Oh, and he didn't get that one, it's still here, and now that I'm finally running out of stupid projects it may take center stage as soon as my WRX motor Swap/GT35R/FMIC swap gets done.  (Hoping for ~450 AWHP on pump gas, and high 10's, add race gas and meth/water you're staring down the barrel of damn near 600 AWHP.  :icon_eek:)

I'm going to be finishing up my fuel rail mounts for the smaller injectors, and installing a 4T65 E-HD in it.  I'm going to be gutting the shit out of it and see just how low in the 13's I can make the stock turbo go.   ;)

Oh, and where the hell is my Jimmy?     That car will be gone by Monday, so you better hurry.  It'd be one thing if it was sitting in the back yard all shitty and ugly, but it's right there in front of the house and I need to park there.  I'm taking the cutting torch to it on Saturday or Sunday.  I'll give you a call tonight.

Yeah, the guy he got the car off of is a real douche bag.     This is the time I've been waiting for... someone that will actually love the car as much as I did when I first got it.   :icon_cry:  I really was hoping that a W owner would end up with it, as IMHO, it's the prize of the Dubs (again, IMHO.)  And I know a normal car person would get pissed and junk it.  But this car comes with quite a few treats that make the car much more likeable (vacuum brakes, TG160 chip, JeffM xover, etc.)  I can't wait for him to get it running again so I can go for a ride!

And I want to race it in the WRX!   :icon_twisted:

When I saw that first pic it made me think:  "Dueling TGP's"

BTW, WTF did you do to the red TGP?

I guess I really know what the car is, and there's no way I'd touch a thing.  I'd kick it just like it is.  Hell, I'd take it back to Pikes Peak and run it again.

Kenny, why are you of all people letting him/her destroy the car like that????????????????????????   :icon_frown:  It's not a damn junkyard TGP... they just spent $13,500 on that, and now they are going to take away basically everything that made that car what it was, a piece of history, all I have to say is shame on the owner for doing this to such a car.   :nono: :motz2: :dunno: :ugone2far:  :leaving:

I've got 3 TGP's here they could have taken for 1/10th of what they spent on that car.  And they wouldn't have to destroy a damn prototype.   :icon_rolleyes:

For those that haven't seen it in person, it's a damn marvel.  And absolute beauty.  I was hoping to actually buy it some day, but alas, now it's being destroyed.

Bling bling beyotch.  Now you just need to throw a bunch of type R stickers all over, and you'll be done.

I've been pretty happy with my stock stereo thus far.  The only upgrade I see myself doing is when I setup my SFF Car-puter.  Then I'll be adding pretty much the same style of setup you're running.  But using a PC for the multi-media handling.
