Performance / Tranny issues
May 19, 2004, 03:06:41 PM
Ok so my car is being a pain. If I put it in OD and jsut leave it there and drive my car will only shift down from OD to D but only jumps in RPM'S from 2700 to 3000. I can shift it manually and it works fine. If I have the tranny in OD and mash the gas to the floor it will only hit 3000 RPM and no more. What the hell is its problem? I havent driven it much to really diagnous the stupid thing but when i did drive it thats what i discovered.
Thanks in adavance, Clay

General / Rear Speaker covers
April 21, 2004, 06:31:35 PM
I was out at the yard today and found myself 3 sets of rear speaker covers. I am keeping one set for myself. I can get my hands on  two more sets. One set is borken but can be fixed.  I also have one extra drivers side one. So if you guys are interested let me know. I am guessing bout 20 bucks a set except for the broken set i can ge for prolly ten. no garuntees on prices just a ballpark figure. And there is a grey cloth 89 out there. Not a TGP but has power seats. Seats are all torn up but prolly can be fixed. I can also find otehr GP stuff and more if you email me at commander1962@yahoo.com and name the Subject "TGP Parts."
Clay I'm in Bemidji MN if anyone is wondering.

For Sale / Want to Buy / 89 TGP For Sale
October 09, 2003, 03:45:04 PM
I have an 1989 TGP.
Red w/ tan leather interior. The car was repainted in 1999. It has small crack in rear bumper by drivers exhaust, scuffed lower valence, some small rock chips on bumper and hood, and the PS rear reflector in bumper is broken, has small dent in hood from someone kneeling on it,fuel filter, and paint is chipped in front of rear tires down to primer. Brand new windsheild installed 2 months ago.

Has 140,000 miles on body and mechanical parts. I changed injectors at 134,000, has a K&N filter on the turbo, new lower motor mount, tranny mount, and dogbones, brand new Taylor spiro-pro plug wires and plugs, new cranks shaft seal, changed transmission filter and fluid at 129,000, new toyo proxy t1s(P245/45R16), FFP coil over rear with KYB G2 struts, Eibach Lowering springs in front, removed teh mufflers and put straight pipes with led oval tips, new IAC sensor, TPS sensor, and brnad new lower ball joints. New brakes we installed right before I bought it in 2000 (still good)

The interior is in great condition. Has three cigarette burns from previous owner. One in drivers rear seat, and 2 in the cloth of the passenger seat. The head liner is starting to fall a little in the rear, the panel on PS rear has cloth peeled back a little. The drivers seat has some wear on the left side of the seat rom people getting in and out. The drivers seat left side is out a bit. Has usual creases in leather and the carpet has minor discoloration. The rear deck is faded and spotty. One rear speaker cover is shattered but possibly can be glued.

Has a Sony CD player in it now but have stock player. The AC doesn't work and has leak somewhere. The seats function fine except the drivers right leg doesn't move.

The car stalls when you start it but only if it sits overnight. Cannot figure it out. It is jsut time to sell. It is a great car. Would love to keep it but no place to store it for the winter anymore. Has never been driven in winter since repainted. Has tinted windows, clear tailights, led exhaust tips, great tires, and lowered 1.4 inches all the way around. I have always ran Castrol Syntec 10w30 with an AC Delco filter on it since I bought it. I bought it with 121,000 on the car and it has 140,000 in it now.

1989 Grand Prix Turbo Red with tan leather.
Price- $6300
Location- Northern Minnesota
Pics will be coming soon.
