I did this mod when I replaced the crossover. I only removed the rear set of fins so that it is not noticeble from the front or when the intercooler is in place. I know I'm not geting as much cooling as possible but I agree with Jeff every little bit helps and my back is only half as sore.  Next I'm going to build a stainless heat sheild for the intake tube.

I want the manual. I assume it is a "factory" service manual and it has the turbo portion?

February 12, 2004, 08:25:06 PM
I recently recieved my crossover pipe/topgun chip and TGP poster from Jeff M. I sent the poster back to Jeff and had him sign it for me. I just found out it's the first ever (#1) signed poster by "Jeff Middaugh". Yeeea Haaa!!! :D  :D  :D  Now I got a hot car and an AWSOME poster!

Yea I just had mine repaired by M&R Electronics last week. $188 shipped.
I had intended on biding on florida_tgp's for resale till I saw what it was going for. It would have been hard to make a profit at that rate.  But it is good to see that our cars are becoming more popualer and worth more & more. :D  :D

General / Can't find 92 Octane
February 02, 2004, 08:30:24 PM
I can't find 92 octane no where in this damn state. Will the TGP run ok on 90 octane (best I can find)? Has anyone used a good octane boost that I can count on to achive 92 or better for every tank? They "all" sound good if you read their propagenda(Spl?) .

BTW recent Mods include Topgun 160, K&N, No cat., more coming soon

Exterior/Interior/Lighting / need bulb info
January 29, 2004, 08:30:35 PM
I had a couple bulbs burn out in my TGP. I pulled them out went down to Schucks and found bulbs that were very close in size and made them work. The bulb in the head light switch was real tricky. It has a holder or extension, that is about 1 1/2" long. I had to solder longer wires into the bulb wires. I asked for bulbs from the dealer, they said I had to buy the whole switch pod.
Good Luck!!

How do I? / Block heater install
January 06, 2004, 03:05:14 PM
I'm in the process of replacing the y-pipe and major tune-up right now. So I have the oil lines and DIS out at this point. Is there a large enough cavity in the rear to except the heater. idbeast.. I think we both meant the LH bank of front of car... yes?

How do I? / Block heater install
January 06, 2004, 11:13:41 AM
Well I think I'll drop the cradle and see if I can get to it that way. I also need to replace the lower motor mount. This will be a good time to do all of that I guess. :? Would it be possible to put it in the right rear bank? That one is easy to get to

How do I? / Block heater install
January 05, 2004, 10:38:46 AM
Has anyone installed a block heater with engine in car? Where is the best and most importantly the easyest place to install the heater? I have one of the freeze plug type heaters. The instructions call for it to be installed in the rear (right bank) center freeze plug.  I don't see how!! Help please...
