Performance / Injector woes
January 26, 2003, 12:40:01 AM
I exchanged my injectors with a set from http://www.lindertech.com/reconinj.htm
The set was $149 and they're flow matched.  I sent my set to them and had a rebuilt set within a week.  The car runs great now.

Mark as for your random smoking, do you know if its gas or oil?  I had a 2.8 V6 beretta once that had a cracked ECM board.  It would flood really bad while cranking but if you heated the computer it would start right up.  Very strange problem.  Might want to look at your at the electronics too.

Problems & Solutions / another PMIII source
January 26, 2003, 12:34:22 AM
In my browsings I ran across another source for the whole PMIII set up.  They want $469 with $100 core and 36 month warr.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed mine is factory original (as far as I can tell) and works fine well except for the fact that I hate the way these brakes feel, but I think thats yet another design flaw.

I don't know what would let it rev over 3500???  maybe if you really stomp it there's enough of a fuel dump to let it freespin past the limiter???

Hey, Malibuolds  the DOHC cars have 7000 rpm redline tachs.  Those cars like to go right up to it if they're running right.

Here's some trans info/history if anyone is interested:

I thought these cars were supposed to shift at 5500.  That seems about right.  Mine shifts consistently at 5800,  I thought I had read before that many of these cars shift up there between 5500 and 6k.  The procedure for adjusting the TV cable is to push the adjuster all the way in, then with the engine off push the throttle to the floor, thats it.

Does any one know if these cars have a rev limiter?  I know it limits in neutral doesn't it just raise the limiter once in gear?

I have an old lesabre for a daily driver that gets stuck in 1st when using WOT once its hot, there's no tach but I'm sure its spun that poor old 3.8 well over 6000 if I'm not paying  attention.  ooops.  Be careful these 440t4/4t60 transmissions weren't really designed for performance.

June 26, 2002, 03:57:41 PM
I really wanted to go up this year but I had too many other obligations, oh that and the fact my TGP is sitting in my yard with the hood proped open with the computer.... argh.    Were there any tgp's there or anything else really cool?
