Quote from: tyroelitehey guys, one of the largest junkyards in the country is right here in town
So I'm curious, what town are you talking about??  I'm from Irwin, PA just east of Pitts.
I'm looking for a louvered hood, front bumper & front passenger headlight for my 91 STE.  Think they might have any of those parts??
Thanks

Quote from: 90TGProad dirt onto the side of my car and it tends to stay in the ridges of the body kit making it look dirty as hell.
I know exactly how you feel about that!  I love to detail my STE but those ridges are a pain in the butt! :x   I usually have to use Q-tips to clean them out!  But I'm a perfectionist and I love the way my STE looks all nice and clean, that's why I NEVER drive it in any kind of weather except sunshine!
Unless I absolutly, positively HAVE too!  It is in hibernation right now until the weather get warmer and the sun shines again!

Quote from: 6000STE/AWDIf you wanna' hang in there, I hit LOTS of junkyards in the spring/summer/fall.  As soon as this whether breakes, I'll be back in action (even more so now that I have to hunt down the leather STE interior and HUD).  I've run into LOTS of turbo GPs around here, which is good....and...bad...I guess.  Less remaining.     I can keep an eye out for ya'.
Thanks a lot, that would be great!  :D
I really wasn't in a big hurry anyway, just putting some feelers out since my "Pony" is in hibernation until spring anyway.  Plus I have to round up enough $$ for all the parts that I would like to get.  First on my list is the new front bumper to replace the damaged one on it now - not sure how it all hooks together, I may also need the grill piece and I know part of the head lamp is loose too ( the damage is on the pass. side).  That's why I was looking for a louvered hood since I know I'll need to get a paint job I figured I might as well get it all done at once.  Then I also have to continue my research into why my STE has a random starting problem.  I've been reading the boards to get ideas from some others that have had simular problems to see what can be tried to resolve the problem.  When ever I have taken it to the garage and put on the computer, no codes show up and they are completely baffled by the problem.
Also, if in your travels this summer you happen to run across an extra HUD, keep me in mind.  That's the only option that was not on my STE when I bought it and it would be a nice addition to complete it!
I am going to start combing the junkyards around this area also and if I happen to find any gray leather or HUD's I'll let you know!
Thanks again for the help!

Quote from: no1kickerMine is off an 89 TGP.  It doesn't have the louvers.  It's straight, with some rust on the lip.  With sanding and painting it should look brand new.  As far as price goes, make me an offer.  I'm in RI.
Thanks, but I'm looking for a hood that already has the louvers.  I guess I could put them in my stock hood but I'd rather keep it as is.  But I do still need a front bumper for my 91 STE to replace the one I have now with the boo-boo :(  (not my fault!)

Quote from: 6000STE/AWDFitment shouldn't be a problem.  All '88-'96 hoods are interchangeable.
Are you sure about that, somewhere I read that only 91 & 92 hoods would fit my 91 STE.  Remember it's not a turbo (even though that shouldn't make a difference).  How would I know for sure if a used hood would fit??  I'm almost certain that it would have to be from a 4 door 91 or 92?!?
But I am interested in getting one as long as I know it will work with my STE.
no1kicker - what year is the hood you have and what did it come off of?? Also how much do you want for it and where are you located??
And what difference does it make what color, that's what paint is for!
I need a new front bumper also, so I am expecting to have to get my car repainted after all the repairs are done anyway.  It's white now, and I'll keep it white but I'm thinking about a few silver metallic flames just for fun, but I haven't made up my mind as of yet! 8)
6000 STE/AWD - I know you know me by now, and I just keep trying to get more info on what I can do to spice up my STE.  But I want to make sure I am doing the right thing.  Someone in Canada told me they were getting a parts car in a few weeks and would sell me the louvered hood, but I figured the shipping from Canada to PA would probably cost more than the hood!
Thanks for your help, I need all I can get!

just wondering - is the whole hood still available or has it been discontinued also??
I'm looking for a louvered hood that will fit my 91 STE.
Thanks for any info on this.

QuoteJust to mention these 1991 3400 STEs had the same larger hood louvers the TGP and TSTE had
Just to add my 2 cents worth :twocents:  - I own a 1991 STE with the 3.4 24 Valve V6 - And it did not come with a louvered hood.
That is why I am now searching for a Louvered hood for it, this engine runs very HOT!
I am the original owner of this beauty and it only has 47k miles on it, and it's loaded to the gills (all except HUD  :(  )
BTW - Does anyone know if there is a kit or some other way to add a turbo to my 3.4??  Someone suggested that this was a possibility, if so I would love to know how.  Any and all info on this would be appreciated!
PS - this was interesting reading - great history lesson!

Does it have a louvered hood on it??  I might be interested in the hood if it is louvered and will fit my 91 STE.

I wish I knew where it was located exactly, I'm not far from Somerset, PA.
